Track 04 - Orgone Accumulator
Orgone Accumulator - “Yourself Into Yourself”
More mid-two thousands nostalgia. One of my favorite bands of all time ever were heavy-handed in the Columbia mix just as fast as they were gone. Listening back on stacks of CD’s filled with all the tunes of friend-rock past I noticed things got dated pretty fast. Between production, tone, and style it is often obvious what happened during the Weezer time, or the Saves the Day time, or the Bright Eyes time, etc. Orgone Accumulator somehow still sounds just as fresh as it sounds old. I was fortunate enough to have seen and played with them a hand full of times and feel like their angularity definitely impacted the way I try to write and play. I also know a lot of other people feel the same way. There is a Toro Y Moi cover of this song somewhere, and Orgone Accumulator’s drummer (Andy) plays drums for Toro Y Moi. So yeah. Listen and enjoy a track from one of the best bands to (oh so briefly) grace Columbia with their sounds.
Love always,
Jordan B.
